About No Covers

The Pippen family has always loved a good adventure…

…especially the kind that brings them closer to their community and the world around them. For more than a decade, Michael and Lynsey have celebrated their anniversary with a special tradition of visiting a new state each year as part of their “50 states in 50 years” journey. Along the way, whether in small towns or big cities, they kept finding themselves stepping into charming independent bookstores.

During their 2020 trip to Kansas, something clicked. They realized that back home, it was not always easy to find the time to wander through a large bookstore in search of “just the right book.” That is when the idea for the book bus began to take shape. Michael imagined something smaller, more personal, and on the move. A way to bring thoughtfully chosen books directly to people without the overwhelm.

From that idea, the book bus was born. It became a cozy, mobile shop offering a curated mix of new and used books, helping readers discover stories they did not even know they were looking for. All of this happens in a quick, welcoming experience that still captures the magic of a local bookstore.

In 2025, Little Bus Books grew into No Covers, a nonprofit dedicated to giving back and supporting the community. But, don’t worry… the Little Bus is still around. It is still rolling along, bringing great books and joyful moments to readers everywhere.

Meet the Pippens

Lynsey

Co-Founder and President

Lynsey, a native of south Louisiana, serves as the head organizer and reading researcher for No Covers. A Speech – Language Pathologist and Special Educator by trade, she utilizes her education on communication and neurodiversity to curate books for a broad demographic. Lynsey enjoys hosting themed parties when the chance arises and loves planning family adventures. You can often find the Pippen’s hiking, kayaking, camping, exploring a theme park, or taking a road trip back home to Cajun country. She’s the visionary of the family and says her primary job with No Covers is to network within the community and keep the shop content relevant to  customers.

Michael
Co-Founder and CEO

Michael, a native of north Louisiana, serves as the guy behind the scenes for No Covers. On weekdays, he continues his full-time position as Director of Sales – Water Solutions Division for a global wire and cable manufacturer and enjoys the frequent opportunity of business travel across the country. As a Mechanical Engineer by trade, Michael is the head handyman around the Pippen house, in which you can often catch him hard at work on a renovation project. He relishes Saturday afternoons manning the grill while watching college football. Michael is the logical-thinker of the family and says his primary job with No Covers is the most uninteresting, but important tasks of hauling the bookshop on wheels and paying the bills.

Luke
Co-Founder and operations manager

Luke, a high school student at Sparrow Academy, enjoys playing piano and anything having to do with music, costumes, and theater. While the shyest of the Pippen bunch, you’ll often see him wearing one of his hat creations or making art from whatever treasures he’s found around the market. Luke can be found helping with bookshop set-up early on Saturdays and training at the check out station. However, as our family foodie, he says his primary job with No Covers is to make sure all employees are happy and fed!

Nolan
Co-Founder and communications director

Nolan, also a high school student at Sparrow Academy, has a vast array of interests. Whether honing his aspirations to be a radio DJ or exploring the mechanics of motors, you’ll often find Nolan in the spotlight. He is dad’s right hand man, often helping with Little Bus set-up and yard work around the store. He’s the social butterfly of the family and says his primary job with No Covers is to make sure that customers get the attention they deserve!
